Copyright and DMCA
Per our Terms of Use, here’s our policy on copyright violations in public Soundslice posts.
Copyright holders, if you find something in violation in a public Soundslice post, please submit a takedown notice to us at feedback@soundslice.com with the following information, per the DMCA:
- the signature of the copyright owner or an authorized agent;
- the specific soundslice.com URLs identifying the copyrighted work(s) claimed to have been infringed;
- contact information for the copyright owner or authorized agent;
- a statement that the person sending the notice has a good faith belief that use of the material in the manner complained of is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law; and
- a statement that the information in the notice is accurate, and under penalty of perjury, that the person sending the notice is authorized to act on behalf of the copyright owner.
Here’s our policy on what we do upon receiving a DMCA takedown notice for a given “slice” (a distinct piece of music on our site):
- We unpublish the slice. This means it’s no longer publicly accessible.
- We email the user to let them know about this removal.
- We email the copyright holder to confirm the removal.
For users who repeatedly infringe copyright, we reserve the right to disable their public sharing ability.
