Solfège is a system of syllables designed to assist any musician with sightsinging pitches for the purposes of improving their sightreading, performance, and memorization of music, regardless of instrument or voice type.
There are many types of solfège, but for this course, the system used is Chromatic Fixed-Do Solfège, the syllables of which were pioneered by Aaron Shearer. Kenneth Chia, the author of this Soundslice course, feels this to be the superior method, particularly for classical instrumentalists, due to the discreet names given to every written pitch available.
Every instrumental art form requires a set of daily exercises in all keys, and that's what this course is about. This course has a unique blend of exercises, adapted to CFD solfège from Dannhauser and Eslava methods, that serve to not only familarize the student with getting comfortable with the pitch naming system, but also work on the crucial skill of interval singing and recognition demanded of conservatory and university eartraining courses.
The slices within all have CFDS syllables as lyrics to read and hear and sing along to, making learning the system as easy as karaoke!
