We’ve improved our graphics engine to support lyrics above the staff.

Previously, lyrics were always displayed below the staff. Now each lyric has the option of being either above or below.

To do this, our editor now has a “Lyrics position” control when editing lyrics. You can choose “Above staff,” “Below staff” or “Custom.” The latter gives you a way of setting the position on a per-syllable basis.

If you’re importing music from MusicXML, we’ll now automatically detect the lyric position, too.
