These 15 etude transcriptions are sourced from recordings from Alex’s Instagram channel, and they’re packed full of jazz and funk vocabulary. The goal is to improve sight reading, improvisation and knowledge of jazz harmony. If you’re learning jazz and want to get a better sense of how to navigate changes with phrases that will hit every chord and raise the occasional eyebrow, then this is for you.

Though the etudes are performed on tenor and baritone sax, they can be transposed to any key at the touch of a button. You can play along with Alex’s performances, slow down the tempo without changing the pitch and easily create loops by clicking and dragging anywhere in the notation.
