For the past year, Mark Lettieri’s been making some noise on Instagram using the hashtag "#stratstomp." With each post to this feed, he’s created some extremely rhythmic, extremely funky guitar tracks, and has encouraged others to jump in and add their own parts. (They have.)
Here’s the thing: Mark’s parts ain’t easy. So in this course he’s put together 10 transcriptions and full instructional breakdowns about how to play each one of them. He also explores where the ideas came from in the hope of getting your own creative wheels turning.
And no, you don't need a Stratocaster to play these. In fact, Mark isn’t even using a strat — "#stratstomp" just has a nice ring to it, and it connotates the kind of syncopated badness that’s very much explored in this material.
