Articulation detection in PDF scanner

Our PDF/image importer now detects staccato, tenuto, accents and a few other articulation markings.

As with other types of notations, we’ll automatically ask you about notes whose articulations we’re not sure about:

This is powered by our machine-learning system and will get better over time as the system sees more examples of articulations. It’s already done an excellent job of learning the difference between a staccato marking and a smudge on a dirty scan.

We’ve updated our Supported notations in PDF uploads page, which is a comprehensive description of each type of music notation and whether we detect it yet.
