MIDI note entry

We’ve add support for MIDI entry to our notation editor!

If you’re in a paid plan, you can now connect a MIDI keyboard to your computer and use that keyboard to enter notes in Soundslice. This can save a lot of time over our other input methods and makes for a natural workflow (especially for pianists).

To activate MIDI note entry, edit any of your slices and open the editor preferences at bottom left, then look for the “MIDI note entry” section:

Make sure your MIDI device is connected, then click “Connect” to get started. This may take a few seconds. In some cases, your browser might prompt you for permission.

If all goes well, you’ll see the name of your MIDI device in the interface, and you can begin using your MIDI device for note entry.

Please note that this is using relatively new technology and isn’t supported in all web browsers — notably not in Safari nor on iOS. For more info, see our new help page on MIDI note entry.

This could be a game-changer. I can't wait to try it!
can't wait to try as well, sounds promising!
It's awesome ! Do you think that one day we will be able to capture the sound of the guitar?
Good news !!!
Great job !!!
This will make transcription so much easier. Thanks guys!
I haven’t tried the feature, but is it possible to do Finale-like quick duration assigning by holding down controller note, then using a number key to specify duration? i.e. can entry be mouse-free?
In the future, will Soundslice be able to determine via MIDI if I'm hitting the correct notes in real time?
