Chord diagram detection in music scans

Our music-scanning system now detects chord diagrams:

This is one of the more complicated parts of our scanning system! A single chord diagram actually contains a lot of information:

We have a brand-new, custom machine-learning system to detect all of these separate components, extract their meaning and combine them appropriately. It works for diagrams of 4, 5 or 6 strings.

This new feature will work on all PDF/image scans going forward. If you’ve previously scanned music with chord diagrams, we won’t retroactively add them — you’d need to do a fresh scan.

For more details on our scanning feature’s capabilities, have a look at our updated Supported notations in PDF uploads page.
