Editor preferences

Our editor lets you tweak a few preferences to customize your editing experience.

Only customers with a paid plan can change these preferences.

Changing your preferences

To access the editor preferences menu, edit a slice and click “Editor preferences” at the bottom left of the screen to open them. (If you’re on a small screen, you won’t see this, and you’ll instead need to click the button at the top left of the interface, then select “Editor preferences…”)

Each available preference is described here:

Play sound when note is selected

Here, you tell Soundslice whether to play audio when you’ve selected a note in the editor (either by clicking on it or navigating to it via your keyboard). The options are:

  • None — don’t play any sounds
  • Play note — play the selected note (but not other notes, in case of a chord)
  • Play chord — play all of the notes in the chord

Note that if you’ve selected “Play chord,” we’ll still only play individual notes when you use the up/down arrows to navigate through a chord.

Play sound when note is input

Here, you tell Soundslice whether to play audio when you enter notes or change existing notes’ pitches. The options are:

  • None — don’t play any sounds
  • Play note — play the new pitch (but not other pitches, in case of a chord)
  • Play chord — play all of the pitches in the chord
