Slides
Here’s how to use slides in tablature in the Soundslice editor.
Note that our system has several types of slides:
- A legato slide between two notes
- A shift slide between two notes
- A slide upward into a note
- A slide downward into a note
- A slide upward from a note
- A slide downward from a note
Creating slides between notes (legato or shift slides)
A legato slide is one where you don’t strike the second note after the slide. A shift slide is one where you do strike the second note after the slide. In Soundslice, legato slides get a slur; shift slides don’t.
To create either type of slide:
- Add two subsequent notes on the same string in your tablature.
- Select the first of the two notes. (It doesn’t matter if you select it within the tablature staff or the standard-notation staff.)
- Click the “Slide to next note (shift)” or “Slide to next note (legato)” icon in the editor sidebar’s “Tablature” menu , or search the editor for “slide.” Or use a keyboard shortcut.
Removing slides between notes
- Select the first of the two notes. (It doesn’t matter if you select it within the tablature staff or the standard-notation staff.)
- You’ll see the slide icon ( or ) in the current notations panel. Click that icon to remove the slide.
Toggling slides into (or out of) notes
- Select the note.
- In the editor sidebar’s “Tablature” menu , click the appropriate slide button. You can also search the editor for “slide” or use a keyboard shortcut.
