The current notations section

At the bottom of our editor’s left panel , you’ll see some icons that show you which notations are active on your current selection. This is called our “current notations section,” and it looks like this:

In the above example, the selected note has a dynamic, fingering and a downbow marking set — so those three notations appear in the current notations section.

This section is useful for two reasons:

  1. It unambiguously shows you which notations are active on your current selection.
  2. It lets you quickly change/remove those notations, without needing to find the appropriate editor command in another way.

You can click on the icons in the current notations section to change the selected notes’ notations. Here, we click the downbow icon to toggle the note’s downbow marking:

Some of the editor functions are simple on-off toggles, as the above example. Others are more complex and might ask you for more information — such as the chord diagram interface.
