Slice title display

By default, we don’t display a title at the top of music, to save space. But sometimes it can be nice to add a big title, giving your music more of a classic aesthetic:

To enable this title display on any slice you’ve created, go to the advanced slice settings and check the box next to “Show title in notation.” Then hit Save.

Only customers in a paid plan can enable titles.

Notes on formatting

The title is centered above the first stave of your music, using a serif font. There’s no way to change its positioning or font formatting; everything is automatic.

We will never display the title (even if you’ve opted into it) in the following cases:

Changing the title

To change the title, simply click on it. This will open the slice settings, where you’ll see a Title field:

There’s no way to have a different title displayed in your notation vs. what the slice is called. They are one in the same concept.

Can I enable titles on slices that other people have created?

No, this is only available for slices you’ve created yourself.

Is it possible to have multiline titles?

No, we always force titles to be on a single line. If your title is really long, we’ll automatically squoosh it to fit in the available space.

Is there a way to add separate composer and/or lyricist information?

No, we don’t have a way to do that at the moment, but we might add it in the future!
