Granting students access to a private course

There are two ways to share a course with your students.

Method 1: Share a course code

Each course has a unique code that can be shared with students to grant them access. You’ll find it in bold in your course’s “Students” page.

Copy and paste that code, and let your students know about it however you please. (Email it, write it on a whiteboard during class, etc.) Students can enter the course at soundslice.com/coursecode.

During this course-code process, your student will create a free Soundslice account (if they don’t already have one).

Method 2: Add the student directly

You can also add students directly to your course without needing to use a course code. Some teachers prefer to avoid sharing a course code because in theory students can share your code with other people, hence granting course access to people you didn’t intend.

Just type the student’s email address into the box at the top of the course’s “Students” tab and click “Add student.”

What happens next depends on whether the student already has a Soundslice account:

  • If they already have an account, they’ll instantly get access to your course, and we’ll send them an email letting them know.
  • If they don’t have a Soundslice account yet, they’ll get added as “Pending,” and we’ll send them an email with a link to create a free account to access your course.

Is there a limit to the number of students I can add to a course?

No. But keep in mind that we charge per student beyond your first 100 students in a month.

Can I remove students from a course?

Yes. See our guide to managing students for more information.
