Triplet/swing feel (and other feels)
Here’s how to notate triplet/swing feel (and other feels) using the Soundslice editor.
About triplet/swing feel
In Soundslice, triplet/swing feel markings do the following:
- They’re displayed in notation.
- In synthetic playback: The notes are “swung” according to your chosen feel.
- In “real” recording playback: The playhead position is “swung” according to your chosen feel.
Unlike tempo markings, triplet/swing markings are set at a per-bar level. There’s no way to make a triplet/swing marking start midway through a bar.
Adding triplet/swing feel
- Select a note or rest anywhere in the bar.
- In editor’s top panel, open the “Bar” section and click the “Set triplet feel” button . Or search for “Set triplet feel” in the editor search.
- You’ll see the “Edit triplet feel” screen:

Editing or deleting triplet/swing feel
To edit a triplet/swing feel marking, just click on it in your notation. You’ll see the “Edit triplet feel” screen, as detailed above, and you can make changes. To remove the marking, choose the “None” option.
Is it possible to set the exact swing ratio?
Not at the moment, though we’d like to support that some day.
